Park Update (Nikki Friederich, Park Director)

  • Ice has been poured. Ice Rink here and at Kenny should be up and running around December 25th or 26th.

  • Basketball registration is over. Practices begins this week.
    • 26 teams. Outstanding numbers!
  • Fire on Ice – Friday, January 20th

NCEC/NCR Policy Board Update

  • Talk of having NCEC absorbing/NCR but now due to some city rules, NCR may absorb NCEC
    • Should either happen; the impact on Armatage is unknown
  • This affects more neighborhoods more than others; to date, a minimal impact on Armatage

Committee Updates

Community Engagement Update (Bri Keeney)

Renter Initiative Event – January 7th event

  • Postcards have gone out to invite members. Several people have agreed to do some door knocking.
  • Tot Lot – some internal meetings have occurred
    • Next step is to talk to them about Brad Bourn
      • Tara had interest in natural landscaping plans for both Armatage Park and tot lot and any other projects that may impact the neighborhood
    • Happy Hour update
      • Happy with Maude but not thrilled about having to have the Happy Hour end 30 minutes earlier; will look into a 8-10 time slot. Ryan to check in with Todd from Café Maude.
    • Green Team
      • Tara & Laurel attended one of their meetings to learn more about Green initiatives in the neighborhood such as reduce waste, supporting biodiversity through education, and water conservation
      • Currently there is a neighborhood sharing program where ideas are shares and events are planned
        • Lynnhurst/Tangletown partnered on an organics workshop earlier this year

Coordinator Update (Nikki Lindberg)

  • Fix It Loan
    • Expended all money; cannot take on more loans unless we contribute additional funds
      • Are we interested in contributing more funds to the program? In doing so, we could loan it out and collect additional interest over the term of the loan.
    • Discussion surrounding whether or not we want to extend this program. We have collected $35,000 in interest and it was discussed whether or not it makes sense to redirect this back to the program.
      • Interest definitely exists among the board to consider an addition.
        • Motion to carry $50,000 to the fix it loan program
          • Consensus this is one of the few opportunities to generate some revenue for the board/neighborhood
        • December newsletter – Fire on Ice, Renter event, Happy Hour

Treasurer Update (Judy Vecere)

  • Previewed via email. Highlighted in meeting. Budget is on track and cash flow is good.

Coordinator Contract for 2017

  • Bri to provide Denis with a template for an evaluation report
  • Current contract is at $24/hr at 12-15 hrs/week.
  • Evaluation was overall very positive.
  • Only area of improvement is to beef up the newsletter.
  • Proposed: $1/hr increase to $25/hr. Increase from 12-15 hrs/week to 15-20 hrs/week.

Other Items

  • Board Members, Michael and Sarah both have babies on the way.
  • Tree Lighting was a success. 30-50 attendees. Good atmosphere.
  • Welcome bags – looking to beef up the bag. Reached out to local business to see if they would contribute anything to the give away.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:25 pm.
