Armatage Affirmation: Dean Koopman
“As a single mom with a newborn, I rely heavily on my amazing Armatage neighbors for support. My block, 57th Washburn, is extra special and all are worthy of affirmation. One of these neighbors, Dean Koopman, shoveled my walk post-10″ snow fall, so I could stay inside cuddled with baby. Thank you Dean!!” – Eva (new mama and Green Team member)
Armatage Affirmation: Keenan
“Keenan from Oliver was doing my sidewalk this morning and so helpful as I can’t get help until this evening. This is the stuff that makes a neighborhood feel more like community. Made my day!!” – Kim
Armatage Affirmation: Tina Defries
Thank you for being the 58th & Upton block captain and for always working to bring the neighbors together by planning National Night Out activities. Your thoughtfulness is appreciated! -Stephanie Vigen
Armatage Affirmation: Sarah and Dean Koopman
For the past two years, the neighbors from the 5700 block of Washburn Ave S have been holding an annual Halloween Party. Sarah and Dean Koopman graciously open their home and amazing backyard for the space for this gathering. This shindig typically involves hot cider, chili, a candy hunt, music, treats, and a projected Halloween movie (kid’s choice). Being a part of this gathering encapsulates a sense of community. All are welcome…ghouls, goblins and all. – Sharla McIntosh-Ziegler
Armatage Affirmation: Dill Family
Check out the Dill Family’s fabulous DIY slip ‘n’ slide at Armatage Elem on the corner of 57th & Sheridan! Kudos for creating this fun way to cool off on a hot day. – Kevin Ross
