54th & Penn Pedestrian Safety Meeting
As the year comes to a close, the visibility and safety of neighbors and visitors crossing our local streets becomes more challenging. Our neighborhood is exploring strategies to help pedestrians and drivers more safely navigate local streets, particularly around the intersection of 54th & Penn.
Attend our next neighborhood meeting on Tuesday, December 18 at 6:30pm at the Armatage Recreation Center for a conversation on pedestrian safety at 54th & Penn with the Minneapolis Police Department’s 5th Precinct and Minneapolis Department of Public Works. Can’t make it? Look for a recap in the Armatage eNews later in December.

We the northern end we are looking at routing options along 4th Street and University Avenue. Changes to the Route 6 and other connecting bus service will also be included in the study. Armatage Tree Lighting and Charity Drive – thank you!
Thank you to everyone who came out for or donated supplies to our holiday Tree Lighting and Charity Drive! Huge thanks to 5 year old Armatage resident Kyrie for putting together a cocoa stand with her mom and little sister to benefit the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery.
Package Theft Prevention Tips
Every year around the holidays, there is an increase in packages ordered online and delivered to homes. This also can come with an increase in thefts when the packages are left unattended outside. Victims usually report the theft to their shippers so the police department may not know the extent of these thefts.
